Purpose

The purpose of this award is to encourage enthusiastic members to promote MRS-T activities,
including the execution of its important missions or to serve, in an outstanding manner, to the industry.

Application procedure

1.eligibility.
Any MRS-T member or non-MRS-T member, whether residing overseas or otherwise, who is engaging in materials research, , may be recommended for this award。

2.nomination
Each candidate must be nominated by the following persons and committee in all the four categories:
I. at least three MRS-T members.
II. a member of the MRS-T Medal or any other committees.
III. Person-in-charge of a group membership.

3.nomination procedure
The nominators should describe the candidate exceptional achievements in the forms provided and send their completed forms to MRS-T, within the prescribed date.
• Assessment criteria
(1)Rules and Procedures
Announcement of nomination procedures:
Official announcement of the award-competition, application, nomination and nomination procedures, final date of application, and entry rules is made three months prior to the MRS-T Annual Meeting for that year.
closing date:
The closing date for nominating a candidate is two months before the MRS-T Annual Meeting, after which it will start to review the candidates* applications.
The reviewing process is carried out in three stages:
A. first-phase
All candidates are first reviewed by members of the MRS-T medal committee
B. second-phase
The same committee then vote for the successful candidate from among those short listed, using secret balloting. At this stage, other experts in the field may also be invited to comment on the reviewing process, if necessary.
C. final-phase
The MRS-T finally holds a Directors and Supervisors meeting to finalize the results.
(2) Relatives and friends of the candidates are not permissible to take part in the reviewing process.
(3) Members of the reviewing committee are not permissible to divulge, in any way, the names of the people involved as well as details of the reviewing process.
(4) In the event that no suitably qualified candidate is found for that year, MRS-T retains the rights to withhold the award for the same year..
